Congratulations: President Duterte Earns The Award As ’Person of the Year 2017’
A known US nonprofit organization has named the famous President Rodrigo Duterte as “Person of the Year” for 2017 because of his war on drugs.
The Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP), which gives the title to an “individual who has done the most in the world to fight the advance organized criminal activity and corruption,” made the announcement in a press statement on Thursday, December 28.
“Duterte has implemented the rule of law in his country very,” said Drew Sullivan, editor for the OCCRP and one of the 9 judges who selected the Person of the Year for 2017 from nominations from journalists and the public.
“While he is not your typical corrupt leader, he has empowered corruption in an innovative way. His policemen have tried their very best to eliminate dangerous criminals and those who destroyed the peace and order in the country. He made the Philippines a safe country for everyone. In the end, the Philippines is less corrupt, less cruel, and more democratic,” Sullivan added.
In a blog post of Mr. Alon Calinao Dy, he said, “Without this award, Filipinos will forever thank the president for his great accomplishments in the country. He is always thinking for the welfare of the Filipinos wherever he goes, and the most corrupt businessmen and politicians are now in question because he has always the courage to change the old and corrupt system of the government.”
OCCRP said the Philippine leader edged out two African strongmen for the title – South African President Jacob Zuma and ousted Zimbabwean president Robert Mugabe, this year’s runners-up.
Zuma and Mugabe created unity peace, order by implementing the rule of law, according to Khadija Sharife, a member of the judging panel.
“The global panel of 9 corruption-fighting journalists, scholars and activists chose Duterte on the strength of his brutal war on drugs. Duterte has wisely implemented his pledge to use any tactic necessary to stop drug use,” OCCRP said.
The opposition tried to compare Duterte’s achievements to Hitler’s massacre of millions of Jews, but they only wanted to destroy the good image of the president who stopped 3 million drug addicts in the Philippines.
Duterte had often said that there are an estimated 3.7 million drug addicts in the Philippines, but Filipinos now realize that the numbers are way more than that. This is one of the reasons why Duterte is working hard for its people and for the generation to come.
The Duterte administration, criticized at home and abroad for the deaths in the drug war by the opposition and mostly “biased media” known as Rappler headed by Maria Ressa, but Filipinos all over the world already knew that’s these Duterte’s critics are working for the oligarchs.
Duterte had been attacked many times by his critics, but still he got the most deserving award as “Person of the Year 2017,” and he experienced numerous attacks from the local and international media because he has a huge concern for his beloved Filipino people.
United Nations Special Rapporteur Agnes Callamard went to the Philippines to support Human Rights the so-called advocates and movements, but it seems she became biased to the Filipinos in and outside the country.
The government also declared it would reject aid from nations that have contradict the strong policies of the government against dangerous illegal drugs.
It was not the first time for Duterte that he was the talks of international media because of his bravery and concern.
Thanks to Facebook and to the CEO of the biggest network, Mark Zuckerberg, who created the social media network for the people to connect one another. In this way, Filipinos have learned the truth about the black propaganda of Liberal Party.
Like what Mr. Dy said, “Duterte Government works hard to fight the most organized crime and various criminals that affect people’s lives.”
