Mula P5,000 ay Itataas sa P20,000 Kada Buwan!

Inaprubahan na ng House Committee on Appropriations ang panukala para taasan sa P20,000 ang old-age pension ng mga beterano.

Ayon kay Appropriations Committee Chairman Karlo Alexei Nograles, napapanahon ang regalong ito ngayong Araw ng Kagitingan para maipakita ang pasasalamat at pagkilala sa kagitingan ng ating mga beterano.

Sinabi pa ng mambabatas na kinatigan na rin ng Department of Budget and Management ang paglalaan ng pondo bago pa man ito tuluyang maging ganap na batas.

Kinalampag naman ni House Committee on Veterans Affairs and Welfare Chairman Leopoldo Bataoil na bilisan na rin ng Senado ang pagapruba sa increase ng old-age pension.

Sa House Bill 270 na iniakda ni Bataan Rep. Geraldine Roman, ang P5,000 kada buwan na natatanggap ng mga World War II, Korean at Vietnam War Veteran ay itataas sa P20,000 kada buwan.

Sakop lamang din ang mga beteranong hindi nakakatanggap ng pensyon o anumang benepisyo mula sa Armed Forces of the Philippines.
